Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies like localStorage are used to store information in your browser. This policy explains which technologies Borgeon uses and why, in accordance with the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act (ekomloven) section 3-15.

2. What We Use

Borgeon uses only strictly necessary storage to deliver the service. We do not use any analytics, marketing, or tracking cookies.

NameTypePurposeDuration
borgeonTokenlocalStorageAuthentication — keeps you logged inUntil you log out
borgeonLanglocalStorageLanguage preference (EN/NO)Until you change it

3. Why We Don’t Show a Consent Banner

Under ekomloven section 3-15, consent is only required for storage that is not strictly necessary to deliver the service the user has requested. Borgeon uses only strictly necessary storage (authentication and language preference), so a consent banner is not required. If we add analytics or marketing technologies in the future, we will obtain your explicit consent first.

4. Third-Party Technologies

Stripe (our payment provider) may set its own necessary cookies during the checkout process. These are covered by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

5. Browser Controls

You can delete stored data at any time through your browser settings. Note that deleting borgeonToken will log you out of the service.

6. Contact

Questions about cookies can be directed to:

  • Borge Capital
  • Email: contact@borgeon.com

You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no) or the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom, nkom.no) regarding cookie usage.
